There are multiple ways how you can cook lechon in the oven. We always have success by broiling our lechon low for 3-5 hrs depending on the meat size. We place meat with cut side up to prevent flavour from coming out. and cover each sides with foil, as well as place foil on the top rack of oven to prevent direct heat.
It is always tender, juicy and crispy.
We only turn the meat once when it is golden brown( about 2 hrs.) then remove the foil on each side. Continue cooking until fully cook. Serve while it is hot !!!

Remove pork belly meat from the oven and wait 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. It helps redistribute the juice throughout the meat. If you're worry about the meat cooling off, you can cover with aluminum foil. In our experience, we just leave it open and we find it makes the skin more crispier.

70g / pack = 10 lbs meat. If not sure the size of your meat, our rule of thumb is make sure you covered generously the meat with Cebu Lechon Mix (do not apply the skin).
Make sure to use kitchen/butcher twine. They are durable and meant for roasting. We get our twine from Walmart.
Mix soy sauce and vegetable oil (1:1), baste on the pork skin ( once only) just before you place in the oven.
We only baste once just before placing in the oven. You don't want to open your oven too many times, it takes longer to cook and inconvenient as well.
Yes you can if you bake it but we don't usually preheat as we set to broil (low) when we cook.
For 10 lbs meat, we cook it for 4 hrs. Remember oven temperature varies.
Tip: Placing foil on the top rack (above your meat) protects your meat from getting burned and it helps the meat moist and perfect skin colour.
Yes. Air fryer is the best! It's moist and crispy. But if you don't have air fryer, oven or oven toaster works well too.
